Zero budget transformation fairy tale

Once upon a time.....
..... there was an ugly little TV stand, which was hated by its owner,
its owner had no money to replace it, so, decided to transform it in to something "beautiful"

she had craft paint, but she knew craft paint and laminate don't get along........

........she also had brown paper bags and glue on hand...... started gluing pieces of paper to the ugly cabinet........

Until she covered the whole piece, how beautiful the cabinet started to look....
..............Once she finished covering the cabinet in brown paper bags, the painting began (craft paint in color "laguna")

After "dressing" the piece with the beautiful paint and water based stain, she added some "frenchiness" with a stencil and gold paint, and some "jewelry" that she had leftover from another piece.

Now they both will live happily ever after...........
Don't you love happy endings and zero budget transformations???

Mirror frame

I've been trying to finish this project since last year, finally yesterday I decided that it was time and will take me only 5 minutes to finish.

It all started with my bathroom update and a very little budget.  I got a long piece of wood which I cut to fit the sides of the mirror, I stained the pieces dark walnut and then just brushed some white paint on them, I really like the rustic look.

Here are the results:

I also covered the  ugly beige switch plates with some printed graphics from The graphics fairy.

Until the next project.

Apples and mums

Nothing says fall than mums and apples, (okay, pumpkins too), but today I don't want to talk about pumpkins, I want to show you some mums from my garden

I don't know how this happened, but I have red and yellow mums coming from the same plant.

We picked these gorgeous apples last weekend in Washington, right from the tree, they're delicious too.

I love how versatile mason jars are, you can do so much with them, even paint them.  I will be painting some for my front entrance on Halloween.

Wishing you all a great weekend!!!

Last fall tour....... maybe

I'm still working on the decorations for outside, need to get the real pumpkins, corn stalks and some lights... yes orange lights.
My fall table, nothing fancy, just some cheap plastic place mats and a few accessories that gives it the festive touch.

I made this pumpkin napkin holder years ago out of MDF

House plants need to be decorated too

The mantle can't be decorated nicely, too many cables and TV on top, but still gets some fall touches

Like I said, nothing fancy, just touches of fall everywhere.

Fall tour

Fall is officially here and one of the places that I love to decorate is my entrance aka "library"
The table where we sit to read books and do homework

Dear husband made this ladder shelf a long time ago, it used to be burgundy, but I started painting everything black, poor shelf.

Some of my silver plate items

Lots of patina on this tea set

I like this pair of guys

I like white pumpkins, but this is the only white I have.

This column needs a makeover badly

Niche by the front door

Yes, I have a mailbox inside the house, it's so french

I made this sign our of a fan blade

And last but not least, my scaredy cat.

I still have to finish decorating outside, will come back whith a tour of the living room, kitchen and front porch.
