Finally I can post pictures of the bedroom makeover. Now, don't think of high end designer makeover, I did this on a tiny little budget.
Drumroll please........
This was a very damaged table that I got at a yard sale for $2
What I did was to cut a piece of MDF and glued it to the top of the table for a smooth finish.
I painted it white and distressed it a little
This is the other side of the bed, I already had this table and was originally white.
I wish there was a way to hide the lamp cords, they are an eye sore.
I wish there was a way to hide the lamp cords, they are an eye sore.
This it is a broken futon that we converted in to headboard, painted it white and added these things that I bought for $1.50
I didn't like the square shape of the headboard but with these (whatever they are) looks much better.
I just gave it two coats of paint, I like the "not perfect" look.
Remember my dresser?
And my mirror, here you can see the burgundy nightstands that I had before. I had more pictures of those but they disappeared in the computer.
This is the look now, I replaced the bottom drawer, painted it white, distressed it, added new drawer pulls, some accessories and placed the mirror on top.
Picture at night.
Across from the bed I had this cheesy and ugly painting that I did several years ago.
More white paint, a chandelier stencil, french words and voila.
My garden chair got a makeover also
More white paint and a new pillow, now it adorns a little corner of the bedroom
The window got a little treatment, the light from outside didn't let me take a good picture.
The bed got a new bedspread, a white dust ruffle and some pillows sewn by me (sewing ruffled pillows is the hardest thing ever)
Those are the changes I made to the room, the walls were painted recently, so they will have to remain that color.
I almost forgot, the lamps got a makeover too, they were dark burgundy with lots of beads hanging from the shades, somehow that picture got lost too.
Full view of the bed.
I made this sign out of mdf, painted the favorite french phrase of many people.
Always gotta have something to read by the bed
Now the bedroom has a serene feel, clean, airy. I know it's a mismatch of furniture and accessories, without any style, but what else could you get for $80, I can't complain.

Ooh la la! You put a lot of work into the lighter and brighter transformation, Ido. Well done! I like all the Parisian touches. That bistro chair is adorable. And though the ruffled pillows are a lot of work, definitely worth the effect!

So pretty, you did a great job!
ReplyDeleteYou could use an older natural or white basket beside the table to hold books, magazines or whatever and hide that cord. Or try painting that darn cord with some Fusion spray paint. :)
